Asymchem Laboratories Co., Ltd. has launched its new
European development and pilot manufacturing facility at Discovery Park in
Sandwich, Kent, U.K. The site, previously used by Pfizer for small molecule
production, now has 70 staff members working in R&D and the API pilot
plant, including many former Pfizer employees. The company plans to increase
its workforce by the end of the year as the pilot plant scales up operations.
Asymchem aims to enhance its site by incorporating advanced
technologies for smarter, greener, and more cost-effective manufacturing
processes. By 2025, the facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art
machinery for producing peptides and oligonucleotides, as well as sustainable
solutions for continuous flow processes and biocatalysis.
Dr. Hao Hong, Chairman, Founder, and CEO of Asymchem,
stated,“This is an exciting milestone for Asymchem to meet growing demand for
pharma services and supply. We are continuing a long legacy of manufacturing
excellence at Discovery Park, with the location in Kent being ideal for
reaching our target markets in Europe.”
