Romania's Direct Pharma Logistics group is expanding its
pharmaceutical distribution operations into Bulgaria through a partnership with
Sofia-based distributor Medex, according to Romanian media.
Additionally, the group has plans to enter the Moldovan
market next year, as reported by Forbes.ro on Wednesday.
This expansion is part of Direct Pharma's strategy to
increase its annual turnover by at least 10%, aiming to reach a target of 50
million euros ($54 million).
"For our manufacturing partners, the key benefit is
easier access to new neighboring markets where they currently have no
presence," said Direct Pharma Logistics co-founder Octavian Iacob, as
quoted by Forbes.ro.
In the first quarter of 2024, Direct Pharma Logistics
reported a turnover of 11.1 million euros, a 13% increase compared to the same
period last year.
The Direct Pharma Logistics group, which includes Direct
Pharma Logistics, Pharmalink, and Farmatop, has over 18 years of experience in
pharmaceutical logistics, specializing in pre-wholesale, wholesale, and retail
distribution of medicines.
Medex, based in Sofia, is an authorized distributor of
products from Bayer, La Roche, Sanofi, Pfizer, Mundipharma, Merck, and Nobel
Pharma, among others.
