Tarsus Pharmaceuticals Appoints Dr Kate Goodrich To The Board Of Directors

Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a company dedicated to advancing healthcare through science and technology, initially focused on Ophthalmology. Today, the firm announced that Katherine H. (Kate) Goodrich, M.D., MHS, will join its Board of Directors. Dr. Goodrich currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Humana Inc. Dr. Goodrich brings extensive experience to the board as a healthcare executive and practising physician dedicated to advancing healthcare access, affordability, and innovation. 


As CMO at Humana, she leads clinical strategy for Humana's insurance and CenterWell businesses, focusing on physician engagement, research, and initiatives in health equity and social impact. In her previous role at Humana as Senior Vice President for Clinical Analytics and Trend, she managed analytics for clinical programs to enhance patient outcomes while reducing costs.


“Tarsus has created an entirely new category of disease, brought it to the forefront, and provided a novel solution to potentially millions of patients. That differentiated approach to patient impact is what drew me to Tarsus. I am honoured to have the opportunity to work with such a forward-thinking Board and executive team as we continue building a leadership stake in eye care and work to bring new medicines to patients in need,” said Dr Goodrich.


Before joining Humana, Dr. Goodrich worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as Director of the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) and served as CMS's Chief Medical Officer, where she oversaw initiatives to improve quality, safety, and value across healthcare facilities nationwide.

Alongside her executive roles, Dr. Goodrich has taught at George Washington University Medical Center (GWUMC) for over 25 years, continuing her work as a hospitalist and professor of medicine. She also serves on the boards of the National Quality Forum, the Institute for Accountable Care, and the Delaware Valley ACO. Dr. Goodrich holds an M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and a master’s in health services research from Yale University.
