The upcoming Huawei Watch D2 has taken a significant step
towards its official release, with recent updates indicating it has been
medically certified in China. This smartwatch, anticipated as the successor to
the 2021's Watch D, has generated buzz for months, fueled by rumors and leaks.
A Weibo user, @UncleKanshan, has unveiled a screenshot from
the National Medical Products Administration's database, confirming the
device's certification. Listed under the model numbers LCA-B10, LCA-B11, and
LCA-B12, the Huawei Watch D2 is categorized as a blood pressure monitoring
device. Notably, it features a cuff-style wristband with an integrated airbag,
mirroring the design of its predecessor. The watch is designed to measure
systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as pulse rate, either continuously
or at specified intervals within a 24-hour period for medical evaluation.
Additionally, a similar model is registered in Singapore's
Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) database, where it is described as
a "Sports Activity Tracker" with Bluetooth capabilities and
notification features. The exact launch date and pricing for the Huawei Watch
D2 in China remain uncertain. For perspective, the older Watch D model is
currently priced at €339.99 in Europe.
