Neurophet, a developer of AI-powered brain imaging solutions, has appointed CTO Kim Dong-hyeon as co-CEO and Been Jun-kil as the company’s leader. Kim, who co-founded Neurophet with Been in 2016, has served as chief technology officer for the past eight years. Kim holds a master’s degree from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in Information and Communications and a Ph.D. from GIST’s School of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering.
He is the creator of Neurophet's next-generation neuro-navigation system, which underpins the company's cutting-edge technology. An accomplished inventor, Kim holds approximately 100 patents on brain disease diagnosis, treatment, and analysis and has published numerous research papers in international SCI(E)-level journals.
In recognition of his contributions to AI-driven brain imaging solutions, Kim received a commendation from South Korea’s Minister of Science and ICT in 2022. This year, he was named Sub-Chair of the AI Division within the Korea Medical Devices Association's Innovation Industry Committee. Neurophet stated that Kim’s elevation to co-CEO aligns with its strategy to strengthen corporate management and accelerate business development.
Under this new management structure, Been would focus on spreading the company's global presence. On the other hand, Kim would be responsible for research and development while operating more general corporate activities. This dual-leadership approach is designed to support Neurophet’s growth as it prepares for a technology-focused initial public offering (IPO) next year.
New Co-CEO Kim said in a statement, “With Neurophet's business gaining momentum, we aim to approach our goals more strategically. I will work closely with Co-CEO Been to steer Neurophet toward a brighter future.”
