Sigachi Industries has launched two groundbreaking product
lines, PureCoat and UltraMod, marking its debut in the pharmaceutical coatings
sector. These new offerings, which include cutting-edge film coatings and
polymer blends, arrive as the global market for pharma coatings is booming,
fueled by the rising need for sophisticated drug delivery solutions and
heightened regulatory demands.
"These cutting-edge solutions are poised to transform
the coatings landscape, enhancing drug delivery, patient compliance, and
overall product efficacy," the company said in an exchange filing.
The industry is on the brink of transformation, with
projections indicating a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.1% from 2024
to 2031. The market is expected to expand from USD 1.01 billion in 2023 to USD
1.62 billion by 2031. In India, the market is currently valued at around USD
202 million, with a volume ranging from 9,000 to 9,500 metric tons, while the
total film coating market is estimated at 45,000 to 50,000 metric tons.
India, recognized as a global leader in generic
pharmaceuticals, contributes approximately 15% to the global volume. Sigachi
Industries states that PureCoat and UltraMod have been developed to tackle key
challenges in the pharmaceutical sector, such as enhancing drug stability and
improving bioavailability.
