Single Use Support Appoints Darren Verlenden As New CEO To Drive Next Growth Phase

Single Use Support, a leading company in fluid management and cold chain solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry, has appointed Darren Verlenden as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Darren joins the company with over 20 years of experience in Life Science manufacturing. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President for Process Solutions at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. This leadership change, along with other key team additions, highlights the company’s focus on achieving its global growth goals.

As CEO, Darren will lead Single Use Support's growth strategy and oversee the expansion of its global commercial and operational presence. He stated, "I am excited to join such a talented team and help Single Use Support embark on the next phase of its growth trajectory” said Verlenden. “The portfolio has exceptional differentiated value, and a strong history of delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

Managing Director Christian Praxmarer is confident that Darren’s expertise will help strengthen the company’s market position. He mentioned, “His commercial leadership and strategic development skills will be invaluable in deepening Single Use Support's commitment to quality and innovation.” Christian will continue to play a key role in Single Use Support's leadership team as Chief Operating Officer, based in Kufstein.

Single Use Support has further strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Ulrike Lemke as Chief Commercial Officer. Ulrike, an industry veteran, has held senior roles in commercial and manufacturing operations at Lonza, Sartorius, and most recently Recipharm. These leadership changes aim to accelerate Single Use Support’s global growth and solidify its position in the life sciences sector.  

Additionally, two senior independent directors have joined the company’s Advisory Board. Meeta Gulyani, who brings extensive experience in commercial strategy and M&A across the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries—including roles at Sanofi, Roche, Merck KGaA, and currently as Head of Life Science Strategy and General Manager – Bioprocessing at Ecolab—will provide valuable expertise and industry connections.  

Stefan Stoffel, former Chief Operating Officer at Lonza, adds decades of experience in operations and manufacturing excellence within the bioprocessing industry. With its strengthened leadership team and expanded Advisory Board, Single Use Support is well-positioned to advance its collaboration with biopharmaceutical clients and drive quality outcomes.
