Syntegon Boosts Pharma Capabilities with Strategic Acquisition of Telstar

Syntegon, a global leader in pharmaceutical processing and packaging, has announced its acquisition of Telstar, a prominent equipment manufacturer for the life and health science industries, headquartered in Terrassa, Spain. This strategic move, set to be finalized pending regulatory approval, aims to enhance Syntegon's offerings in liquid pharmaceutical processing, notably through Telstar's expertise in freeze-drying technologies. 

The acquisition will integrate Telstar’s approximately 900 employees and its production facilities in Spain, China, and the UK into Syntegon's operations, significantly expanding its service capabilities across Southern and Western Europe, the U.S., and India. Telstar's renowned freeze-dryers and associated systems are expected to complement Syntegon's vial filling and isolator solutions, providing comprehensive, end-to-end solutions to pharmaceutical manufacturers and CMOs.

CEO of Syntegon, Torsten Türling, emphasized that the inclusion of Telstar will not only enhance Syntegon's product portfolio but also bolster its global service network, bringing advanced technologies and lifecycle services closer to clients worldwide. Jordi Puig, CEO of Telstar, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, highlighting the aligned business cultures and shared commitment to innovation that will drive future growth in aseptic manufacturing within the pharmaceutical sector.
